I think that the border and edge effects work better with normal photos, but I like the way these came out. For the first one I used tutorial #12 in the book. Photo shop would not let me choose a canvas extension color but other than that it went fine. The other one I used tutorial #11 it worked OK but it does not like like I painted it on but still a nice effect.
they look great i like the idea with the border effect. did you try softening you brush that might have helped
